At least 25 people were injured overnight Thursday to Friday when Russian shelling hit an apartment building in Kharkivits second largest city Ukrainian (northeast), announced its mayor.
“12-story apartment building hit in a guided bomb attack. Parts of the first and third floors were partially destroyed. Properties all around were destroyed,” Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, said via Telegram.
“The number of injured does not stop increasing. Right now we have 25,” he added later.
He had previously reported that there were “people trapped in the rubble of the apartment building,” adding that the rescue operation was ongoing.
Meanwhile, a Russian drone attack in and around Odessa (south) injured two people, Oleh Kiper, the regional governor, said.

The military administration of Kyiv announced that the anti-aircraft defense took action to repel an attack on the capital.
Kiev has become the target of drone attacks practically every day since the beginning of this month, while in October there were around 20 such attacks.
For months, the Ukrainian government has been asking its Western allies for more air defense systems to counter the incursions.
