A second stronger earthquake, measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale, was announced by the US Geodynamic Center less than an hour after the first earthquake that hit the southeastern part of Cuba, which was finally estimated at 5.9 on the Richter scale.

The focal depth of the second earthquake is at 23 kilometers, while the first one is 15 kilometers from the coast of Bartolomeo Masso, in the southern province of Granma.

There is no danger of a tsunami.
