“The EU should not react, Cyprus is not a matter for the High Representative. Let him deal with other issues,” said the representative of Erdogan’s party
OR Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a strong and sovereign state, said Omer Celik, representative of the Justice and Development Party of Turkey, as reported by SKAI’s correspondent in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis.
In detail, what was stated by Omer Celik:
“Today is of course an important day, as it marks 41 years since the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Let’s say 41 times mashallah.(Don’t look at it)
During this period very intense fighting took place.
And as it seems, amidst all these struggles, the “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” continues its course as a sovereign and a fraternal stateas the apple of our nation’s eye, overcoming many adversities.
Of course, despite all the traps, embargoes and blockade activities carried out by the *Greek-Greek-Cypriot* duo in various parts of the world, the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ continues to exist as a sovereign state that is the representative of stability of the area.
We have always been on the side of the Turkish Cypriots and we will continue to be on their side.
As far as today is concerned, especially when attention is paid to the movement of relations that the Greek Cypriot side has entered into, it can be seen more clearly how critical the existence of the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ is both as a state and in terms of regional peace.
From here we once again greet our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters.
From here we once again greet our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters
Among all this mobility, one of the crucial ones is, of course, the developments in Organization of Turkic States.
The Organization of Turkic States has now adopted the common alphabet.
The establishment of a committee between the means of common central banks in the countries belonging to the Organization of Turkic States, the work on the digital economy, the work on space and of course the common alphabet between all and of course the fact that it takes place on this platform ” the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” is a message to the world regarding the rapprochement between them.
Of course, the curious thing here is that the High Representative of the European Unionresponsible for foreign policy and security, was disturbed by the presence of the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ on this platform.
That is, he said that this is an attempt to recognize the “Turkish Cypriot Republic”, and he pointed to the Greek Cypriot side of Cyprus as the only state in Cyprus and then said something against these initiatives.
Here, actually the source of this issue that brought this problem are those who took the ‘Southern Cyprus‘ in the European Union without securing its internal integration, saying that it has the right to represent the whole of Cyprus, even though it does not have the right to represent the whole of Cyprus.
And now they rose up and are trying to interfere with the sovereign rights of the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’. This in itself is a lack of vision. This is not a matter for the High Representative of the European Union for Security and Foreign Policy.
It is useful for him to deal with other issues, but this statement by the representative has unfortunately emerged as a new example of the lack of vision in the European Union to manage these issues.
I would like to express that the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ will be supported in every field from now on and that all initiatives for the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as a sovereign state will continue even more vigorously.
Here, we would like to express our gratitude to the governments and peoples of the Turkish states who stand in solidarity with the Turkish Cypriot people and show the respect that the ‘Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’ deserves.
These are the topics I had to discuss with you today, friends, if you have any question, I will answer».
