Deeply disappointed by the choices of persons made by Donald Trump for his cabinet, the representatives of Muslims in the US, who backed the Republican to express their displeasure at the Biden administration’s support for Israel.

“Trump won because of us and we’re not happy with the choice of secretary of state and others,” Rabiul Choudy, a Philadelphia investor who chaired the campaign, told Reuters. Abandon Harris in Pennsylvania and was one of the founders of the movement Muslims for Trump.

Muslim support for Trump helped him win Michigan and contributed to his victory in some of the key states, analysts say.

Trump chose him as Secretary of State Marco Rubioa staunch supporter of Israel.

Earlier this year, Rubio said he would not call for a cease-fire in Gaza and that he believed the Israel must destroy “every element” of Hamas.

“These people are vicious animals,” he had said.

Trump also nominated him Mike Huckabeea former governor of Arkansas and staunch pro-Israel conservative who supports Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and has called the two-state solution in Palestine “unworkable,” as the next ambassador to Israel.

He also chose the Elise Stefanikwho called the UN a “cesspool of anti-Semitism,” as the US ambassador to the United Nations.

Rexhinaldo Nazarko, director of the American Muslim Engagement and Empowerment Network, said Muslim voters hoped Trump would choose officials who would work for peace, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

“We are very disappointed,” he said.

“It looks like this administration is filled with neocon and pro-Israel, pro-war people, which is Trump’s failure of the peace and anti-war movement.”

Nazarko said the community will continue to push for an end to the war in Gaza.

Hassan Abdel Salam, a former professor at the University of Minnesota and co-founder of the Abandon Harris campaign, which supported Green Party candidate Jill Stein, said Trump’s plans are even more extreme than feared.

“It’s like he’s in Zionist overdrive,” he said. “We’ve always been extremely skeptical…Obviously, we’re still waiting to see how the situation plays out, but it looks like our community has been duped.”

Many Muslim and Arab supporters of Trump hoped that Mr Richard GrenellTrump’s former director of national intelligence, would play a key role as a leader in outreach to Muslim and Arab-American communities. In fact, he was considered a possible candidate for foreign minister.

Another Trump ally, Massad Boulos, the Lebanese father-in-law of his daughter Tiffany, has met repeatedly with Arab-American and Muslim leaders.

Both promised Arab-American and Muslim voters that Trump wanted peace and would work for an immediate end to the wars in the Middle East.
