Ukraine is showing restraint against Belarus, but will retaliate if Belarusian troops cross the border to take part in the Russian invasion, said Ukraine’s top security official Oleki Danilov.
According to Danilov, Ukraine was careful in dealing with Belarus, despite the fact that this country is used as a base for the take-off of Russian planes attacking Ukrainian territory.
“If a soldier crosses our border, we will retaliate,” he warned.
The State Center for Strategic Communications of Ukraine stated earlier that Belarus may invade Ukraine today after a meeting in Moscow between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, according to the Guardian.
In an announcement, the center states:
“According to preliminary data, the Belarusian troops may invade on March 11 at 21:00 (8 o’clock Greek time).
According to Ukrainian military and government officials, Belarus is preparing to invade Ukraine before 9 pm on March 11.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that a Belarusian settlement on the Belarus-Ukraine border had been bombed during a Russian raid, denouncing Russian provocations to involve Belarus in the war.
“Russian aircraft launched an air raid on the Belarusian settlement of Kopani, near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border on Friday, to involve the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus in the war with Ukraine,” the Ukrainian military said in a statement.
The Ukrainian armed forces claim that the Russian planes took off from Belarusian territory, from Dubrovitsa airport, entered the Ukrainian airspace, and then returned to Belarus where they hit Kopani.
“This is a challenge. The goal is to drag the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus into the war with Ukraine,” said the Ukrainian Air Force. The Ukrainian armed forces released videos, wanting to verify their allegations.
There have been “positive” developments in the ongoing negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian officials, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. “There are some positive changes, as the negotiators have informed me,” Putin told Belarussian leader Alexander Lukashenko, a key Russian ally, at a meeting in Moscow.
