Ukraine under siege: Russians head to Odessa – Arrive in Kharkov and Mariupol

The UK Department of Defense has released its latest intelligence update, which says troops are trying to encircle Ukrainian forces in the east and come from Kharkov and Mariupol.

He added that Russian troops were also advancing from the Russian-controlled region of Crimea to the south in a direction to Odessathe largest port and third city in the country.

However, the British Ministry notes that Russia is moving forward, but is recording heavy losses due to the Ukrainian resistance.

In fact, warning sirens sound for the second time today in Odessa, which is fortified and preparing for war.

According to SKAI’s envoy to the city, Elli Kasoli, the sirens sounded once at 3.30 in the morning and the alarm lasted for about two hours and once, shortly after 7.30 this morning.

Soldiers and residents are fortified, as they fear the city will be surrounded and believe it is only a matter of time before the attacks begin.

At various locations in the city, volunteers are preparing sandbags to be used at roadblocks, while a downtown market has been turned into a volunteer supply center.

Meanwhile, images of destruction in Mariupol show new satellite photos taken yesterday by the American company, Maxar Technologies.

The images show extensive damage to urban infrastructure and apartment buildings throughout the city of Mariupol, while fires are seen in the western part of the Black Sea port city and dozens of high-rise apartment buildings that have been severely damaged.

Reuters could not independently verify the photos.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said today that Mariupol was under siege by Russian forces who had invaded his country, but that the city was still under Ukrainian control.

At least 1,582 civilians have been killed in the city.
