US President-elect Donald Trump today called on Republicans and Democrats to vote in Congress on an overhauled federal government funding bill, endorsing the deal reached to avert a budget impasse ahead of an expected midnight deadline on Friday (early Saturday in Greece ).

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump says the plan includes an increase in the debt ceiling through January 30, 2027, and funds for farmers and disaster relief.

Earlier today, the reaching of an agreement in Congress was revealed by Republican representatives Tom Cole and Stephanie Bice.

Yesterday Wednesday, Donald Trump and his Vice President-elect J. D. Vance had taken a joint statement against the proposed text, stressing that any concession to the Democrats would be tantamount to “betraying the country” and that the Republicans should not be intimidated by the threat of the paralysis of the federal state apparatus, the famous shutdown.
