Fresh horror struck Gaza after Israeli airstrike killed 10 members of a family, among which seven childrenin its northern part, the Palestinian Civil Defense Rescue Service said.

A video posted by the agency on its Telegram channel on Friday night showed its personnel pulling victims out from under the rubble of the Khallah family’s house in Jabalia.

“All the witnesses are from the same family, including seven children, the oldest six years old,” civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal told AFP news agency.

Basal added that the airstrike injured 15 other people.

The Israeli military told AFP it hit “several terrorists who were operating in a military structure belonging to the terrorist organization Hamas and who posed a threat to IDF troops operating in the area.”

“According to an initial examination, the reported number of casualties resulting from the strike does not line up with the information held by the IDF,” he added.

Pope Francis condemned the attack

Pope Francis on Saturday condemned the bombings as “cruelty”. “Yesterday the children were bombed. This is cruelty, this is not war,” he said. “I want to say it because it touches my heart,” he said.

Israel continued its attacks across the Gaza Strip on Friday.
