Born in 1911 in the village of Rupite, Bulgaria, Baba Vanga was a blind mystic who became famous for her alleged ability to see the future.

Among her most famous predictions – which came true – were the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers in New York, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the untimely death of Princess Diana.

For 2024, Baba Vanga had prophesied a number of events, some of which have come true in a surprising way – while other predictions for the outgoing year still remain unfulfilled.

The prophecies that came true

Global financial crisis

For 2024, the blind fortuneteller from Bulgaria predicted a global financial crisis that would “cause rising tensions everywhere”, as reported by The Mirror.

For example, the budget brought down the government in France, the US is on the brink of another “lockdown” while in Britain millions of people still rely on food banks and struggle with inflation.

Climate crisis

Another big prediction from Baba Vanga was an “environmental collapse” and natural disasters in 2024 certainly confirmed it: unprecedented floods in Valencia, Spain, devastating storms in Europe and America, killer hurricanes like Beryl in the Caribbean and Yagi in the East Asia, is one of the extreme weather phenomena that hit the planet in the year that is leaving because of the climate crisis.

In fact, 2024 is expected to be the hottest year on record.

Great medical achievements

Baba Vanga is said to have predicted 2024 major medical advances in cancer and Alzheimer’s treatment – and this year, the world saw real progress.

Doctors have introduced new diagnostic tests capable of detecting cancer in children under the age of 18, and there have been major breakthroughs in the treatment of cervical cancer.

In Alzheimer’s, clinical trials have shown promising results, with disease-modifying treatments approved in the UK.

The prophecy that has not (yet) come true: Biological warfare

One of the important predictions of Baba Vanga for 2024 was the use of biological weapons by a powerful country.

While global tensions are high, especially with Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, thankfully that hasn’t been the case – for now, at least.

The Dystopian “Human Designers”

Another disturbing prediction from Baba Vanga – which thankfully has not come true this year – was the creation of “human designers” through genetic manipulation.

The vision of the blind fortune teller was said to refer to the possibility that human beings would in the future be manufactured in laboratories or genetically modified to satisfy specific wishes of their parents.

According to History, Baba Vanga may have meant that “people could be ‘improved’ at the genetic level, and thus designed according to their parents’ specifications.”

Whatever the truth of the vision, it is certainly a dystopia, which – with the advancement of technology and science – may finally turn out to be true in the future.
