An uproar was caused by a video of the MEP from Cyprus, Phidias Panagiotou who questioned the voting procedures within the European Parliament, with vice-president Nicu Ștefănuță, answering him, also on video, with spikes.

Specifically, Phidias Panagiotou, argued that in the European Parliament, mistakes are often observed in the counting during the votes, especially when they are not done electronically.

In fact, in his video he refers by name to Nicu Ștefănuțăaccusing him of an error in a particular vote, which was done by hand. As it typically states: “I believe that all voting should be electronic as it is more transparent and there is no margin for mistakes as it happened today».

Nicu Ștefănuță immediately reacted to Phidias’ claims and with his own video, as reported by philenews, he refutes what the Cypriot MEP attributes to him, which he characterizes as false claims.

He even mentions that Phidias Panagiotou presents as one continuous process two separate votes.

“If you want to be a politician, learn the rules. This is a misleading video”he emphasizes in his TikTok post.
