Social media users reported hearing gunshots at the site of Donald Trump’s 64-story hotel
One person has been killed and seven others injured after a Tesla car exploded outside the hotel owned by US President-elect Donald Trump in Las Vegas.
Unrest prevailed in the city earlier after continuous reports on social media of a loud explosion and banging at Donald Trump’s hotel.

Videos taken near the 64-storey complex showed police and fire brigade rushing to the scene.
One person wrote on X: “My friend who did the Grucci fireworks show in Las Vegas just texted me that there was a huge explosion at Trump Tower,” one user said on X with another adding “some kind of explosion at the tower Trump in Las Vegas. I have no idea what happened yet.”
It was later reported that the banging sounds were the result of a car fire near the hotel in the nearby Fashion Show Mall.
The massive building, Trump International Hotel has gold infused into the exterior windows.
The hotel opened on March 31, 2008, with 1,282 rooms and two restaurants. It is the tallest residential building in Las Vegas with a length of 190 meters..
