“The Reform party needs a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes,” Musk wrote on Platform X, referring to Nigel Farage
Elon Musk said today that the British far-right Reform UK party must change its leader, namely Nigel Farage, whom he supported until now.
“The Reform party needs a new leader. THE Farage he doesn’t have what it takes,” Musk wrote on Platform X, referring to Nigel Farage, Brexit icon and leader of the anti-immigration Reform UK party, which is on the rise in the United Kingdom.
An MP since July, Farage recently said he was in “negotiations” with Musk over a funding deal for his party. He met the owner of Platform X in mid-December at Donald Trump’s residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
Farage was quick to respond to him today on X: “Well, this is a surprise! Elon is a remarkable man, but I’m afraid I disagree on this point» with him.
Billionaire Musk, a close associate of Donald Trump, has been making comments in recent days about British politics. He has repeatedly attacked the Labor government of Keir Starmer and called for the release of far-right activist Tommy Robinson.
“I continue to believe that Tommy Robinson is no good for Reform and I will never give up my principlesNigel Farage added.
Tommy Robinson is an iconic figure of the British far-right. He was sentenced in late October to 18 months in prison for violating a 2021 court order barring him from repeating defamatory comments about a Syrian refugee.
In July’s general election, which brought Keir Starmer’s Labor Party to power after 14 years of Tory rule, Reform UK won around 14% of the vote, securing its entry into parliament and five seats.
Nigel Farage’s party took many votes from the Conservatives, who suffered their worst defeat in their history.
