Pontoliak: The FT peace plan presents only Russia’s demands

by

The post of Financial Times Ukrainian President Mikhail Pontolyak commented on the 15-point peace plan between Ukraine and Russia on Twitter.

As he stressed, “the FT published a draft, which represents the demands of the Russian side. Nothing more. The Ukrainian side has its own positions. “The only thing we can confirm at this stage is a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Russian troops and security guarantees from various countries.”

In fact, in an interview he said that in the coming days there may be direct talks between the President of Ukraine and Russia for a ceasefire.

According to the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinfrom, Pontoliak said: “Obviously, the only way to end this war is through direct talks between the two presidents, and this is what we are working on in the context of the negotiations we are currently conducting. “We are working on texts that the presidents will be able to discuss and sign.”

According to Pontoliak, this will happen soon “because that’s the only way to end this war.”

“We are very confident that a ceasefire will be reached in the coming days,” he added.
