US Secretary of State Mark Rubio talked to the king of Jordan Abdullah On Monday, the State Department announced, with the call coming two days following President Donald Trump’s proposal that Jordan and Egypt should be accepted by more Palestinians from Gaza.

Trump presented on Saturday a plan to “clean” the devastated – from the war – of Gaza’s territory in comments that echo the long -term fears of the Palestinians to be permanently expelled from their homes.

On the weekend, Trump said that Jordan and Egypt must be accepted by Palestinians from Gaza, where the Israeli war has killed tens of thousands and has caused a humanitarian crisis. Asked if this was a temporary or long -term solution for Gaza, Trump had answered: “It could be done either.”

“The Minister and King Abdullah discussed the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, the release of hostages and the creation of a path to security and stability in the area.”The State Department said in a statement.

“Minister Rubio thanked Jordan to support the ceasefire through its integral role in providing humanitarian aid through the Jordanian corridor.”added the State Department.

The latest bloodshed in Israeli -Palestinian collision decades was caused on October 7, 2023, when Hamas Palestinian fighters attacked Israel, killing 1,200 and taking about 250 hostages, according to Israeli charges.

Israeli’s subsequent military attack on Gaza killed more than 47,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, and led to charges for Genocide and war crimes that Israel refuses. The battles have currently been stopped in the midst of a fragile truce.
