The released Palestinians surrendered to Ramala on the West Bank and were accepted in a climate of excitement and emotion.
Israel today released another 183 Palestinian prisoners in the last hostage exchange – by Or Levi, Eli Sarabi and Ohand Ben Ami – held in Gaza.
Young and elderly Palestinians were transported by Red Cross buses to Ramala on the West Bank, shortly after the release of 3 Israeli hostages in Gaza.
The 183 Palestinians were accepted in a climate of excitement and emotion, while the icons of obviously slim and damaged Israeli hostages caused anger in Israel.
Of these, 18 were sentenced to death, 54 sentenced to heavy penalties and 111 arrested in Gaza after October 7, 2023.
Israel considers Palestinian prisoners as terrorists, while the Palestinians see them as freedom fighters who resist a military occupation of decades.
About 33 hostages and 1,900 prisoners are expected to be released by the end of the first phase of the truce in three weeks. Israel says that eight of 33 are dead.
