At least two people were killed and five others were injured, the four seriously, when a road bridge collapsed along a highway in the South Korean city of Tsonan (south), the Asian Fire Brigade announced.

The South Korean television network YTN broadcast dramatic shots depicting part of the bridge as it collapses on the site, south of the capital Seoul.

Earlier, Jonap spoke of at least three dead, but the South Korean Fire Brigade clarified that the deaths of two people and the injury to five, four of whom were in critical condition, has been confirmed.

The accident occurred around 09:49 (local time; 02:49 Greek time), when five 50 -meter -backed bridge structures collapsed one after another after being placed by a crane, according to a report by the Yonhap news agency.

Authorities are looking for three other people, who fears that they were struck by the debris of the bridge, according to the same source.

South Korean service president Choi Shang-Mok He ordered that all available staff be mobilized and all available resources to save the missing and take measures to prevent further damage, his services said. The National Fire Department has announced that it has issued a mobilization of firefighters to seek people missing after the bridge collapsed.

The South Korean city of Tsonan is about 82 kilometers (51 miles) south of Seoul.
