Kremlin: We re-used supersonic missiles in Ukraine

by

Despite international reactions Russia announced on Sunday – for the second day in a row – that it had used multi-role missiles to hit targets in Ukraine, this time to destroy a fuel depot of the Ukrainian armed forces in the southern part of the country.

“Large stockpiles of fuel were destroyed by ‘Kalibr’ cruise missiles fired from the Caspian Sea, as well as ballistic missiles fired by the ‘Kinzhal’ aeronautical system from Crimean airspace.” The Russian Defense Ministry said in a press release that it did not specify the date on which the missiles were used.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia hit Ukraine today with Cruise missiles fired from ships in the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, as reported by the Interfax news agency. Ukrainian police posted photos of the building, saying it caught fire.

The United States has confirmed that it has used Russian surface-to-air missiles in western Ukraine to express its concern.
