A 108 -year -old Japanese was certified as the oldest hairdresser in the world by the Guinness Book of Records.
Born in 1916, Sitsui Hakoisi continues to use her own scissors and works properly.
Indeed, at an event attended this week with her two children, her daughter, 85, and her 81 -year -old son promised to continue working until at least the age of 110.
“I arrived only here because of my customers. I am very happy. My heart is full of joy, “the centuries -old hairdresser said at the event in the city of Nakagawa, in the Totsigi region (east).
Sitsui Hakoisi decided to become a hairdresser at the age of 14, when a friend’s mother asked her if she wanted to learn a hairdresser in Tokyo.
Hakoisi got married when she was about 20 years old and opened a hairdresser with her husband, but he was recruited during World War II and lost his life.
The hairdresser, who was also the family’s residence, “was leveled during the Tokyo Air Bombardment by the US Army,” according to a Guinness record.
Several years after the war, Hakoisi opened a new hairdresser in Nakagawa, where she still works today, and where old customers sometimes call to make an appointment.
