“I gave an interview a few weeks ago to my friend Julian Doreyy during which we discussed corruption in Ukraine. As part of this discussion, I told him a story I had heard in 2010 when I was the senior researcher at the Senate International Relations Committee.

The story was that then Foreign Minister Hillary Clinton had offered the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew, $ 20 million, to recognize the self -governing or self -governing nature of the Ukraine Orthodox Church, which was in the Ukraine Church.

Those of you who know me personally know how important my Orthodox faith is to me. And besides, Patriarch Bartholomew is a personal hero of mine. He is known as the “Green Patriarch” because of his influence and long -term support for environmental protection and is a proponent of peace around the world.

Literally the last thing I would like to do is put him in danger or endanger the important job he is doing.
