Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited troops in the Kursk region today, as the Kremlin announced, as Russian forces have released many of the Ukrainian invaders in recent days.

This is the first visit of President Putin to the Kursk Region since Ukrainian forces have launched an unexpected cross -border attack in August 2024.

“I rely on the fact that all the battles waged by our units will be fulfilled and the territory of the Kursk area will soon be completely liberated by the enemy,” said Vladimir Putin.

Underlining that Russian troops must completely release the Kursk Region, President Putin also stressed that the arrested soldiers would be treated as “terrorists”, that is, not as prisoners of war.

Russia’s Chief of Staff, Valerie Girasimov, told President Putin that the Ukrainian forces were surrounded, according to the RIA Novosti news agency.

“The Ukrainian army, seeing the futility of further resistance, began to surrender. Four hundred thirty fighters were captured, “said Grasimov.
