Zelenski and Trump in their current statements say optimistic that the end of the war will not be too late – Putin spoke yesterday for long peace.
“Now we have an opportunity to put an end to the war” supported by the president of Ukraine, Volodimir In his new post on Telegram, adding that “we must not let the war be late.” A few minutes earlier, Donald Trump expressed his optimism that “there is a very good chance of ending war”, stressing that the US and Russia have “Very good and productive discussions”.
However, Moscow does not seem to share this optimism as Vladimir Putin in yesterday’s statements made it clear that he agrees with the end of the war but only if the agreement concerns a long -term peace.
“We agree with the ceasefire proposals, but our position is to become a ceasefire that would lead to long -term peace, based on addressing the original reasons of the crisis,” he said.
Zelenski: America’s power will force Russia to cease fire
The president of Ukraine, after arguing that he now sees an opportunity for peace in his country, urged the US and other allies to put pressure on Putin to “”ensure that Russia is ready to end the war. “
“It is enough for our power to put an end to the war,” he says.
We don’t want to ‘play games’ By the end of the war he said and launched new attack on the Russian president accusing him of “trying to drag the allies into endless discussions about the ceasefire”.
He also accused him of “lying about the real situation on the battlefield”, the victims and the situation of the Russian economy, who said “he has been destroyed by his stupid imperial ambitions.”
“Putin can’t get out of this war because that would not leave anything. So now he does everything he can to undermine diplomacy by putting extremely difficult and unacceptable conditions from the beginning, even before the ceasefire, “Zelenski warned.
Zelenski specifically said that Putin “will try to drag everyone into endless discussions … while his weapons continue to kill people”, as he argued that “every term Putin puts is just an attempt to prevent any diplomacy.”
“This is how Russia works. We warned of it, “he added.
Repeatedly appealing to US President Donald Trump and the US government more broadly, he said that “especially the United States” can influence Putin and Russia to force a ceasefire and, ultimately, bring a constant peace.
“Putin will not end the war on his own. But America’s power is enough to happen, “he said.
Concerning Kursk, Zelenski argued that the situation was “very difficult” and that Ukraine’s business there fulfilled its goal. At the same time, she said that Ukraine needed 100% coverage of its airline and confirmed Trump’s say that Jeddah also had discussions on the territories of Ukraine.
Zelenski’s post
Today Ukraine is celebrating the day of military volunteering. This day has been established not long ago, but honors the bravery of those who defend Ukraine’s state status and independence for a long time.
More than three years of full war of Russia against Ukraine. Over 11 years of a treacherous hybrid war that began with the occupation of Crimea and the battles in the areas of Donetsk and Luhank.
Hundreds of thousands of people have shown us heroism in this war. Millions are working to defend our country. Thousands, unfortunately, have died at the forefront of Russian bombs and missiles. The whole world knows Ukrainian bravery and is inspired by how our people defend their homes.
But we would not wish for such years and decades of war in any nation. In Ukraine, we want peace. From the very first minutes of this war, we only wanted one thing – to let Russia leave our people quiet and the Russian conquerors to leave our land. This is a natural desire for every nation – the desire for independence and security.
That’s why we are fighting. We are fighting with weapons and diplomacy. At the moment, we have a good opportunity to end this war quickly and secure peace. We have a steady understanding of security with our European partners.
There was a productive meeting with our US partners in Saudi Arabia. We are now close to the first step to end every war – silence. We suggested that we start with silence in the air and the sea. The American side suggested that we go further – an immediate and unconditional ceasefire on the ground.
When our team in Jeddah listened to this proposal, he contacted me and immediately agreed. We don’t want to play games with war. Every day of war means that we lose the lives of our people – the most valuable we have.
Of course, we think of security guarantees. Of course, we think about how to control the ceasefire. But the first step is necessary. We support our US partners and President Trump on it. We want to trust America and its president. Ukraine is ready to act quickly and constructively. And we have warned that the only side that will try to sabotage everything will not be us.
Yesterday, we heard from Putin that it sets some terms that clearly show that it does not want any ceasefire. It takes war – that has always been obvious, and it’s obvious now.
Putin tells lies About the real situation on the battlefield, he lies about the losses, he lies about the real situation of his economy, which has been hit by his stupid imperial ambitions, and does everything possible to ensure that diplomacy fails.
Putin can’t get out of this war because that would leave nothing. That is why he now does everything he can to undermine diplomacy by putting extremely difficult and unacceptable conditions from the beginning, before the ceasefire.
Putin will try to drag everyone into endless discussionsas he did with the “Minsk” that was wasting days, weeks and months in meaningless conversations, while his weapons continue to kill people. Every term Putin puts is just an attempt to block any diplomacy. This is how Russia works. And we warned of it.
But we need peace. Real peace. And we must not let the war be late. We had constructive discussions with the Americans. We will continue to work with European and other partners. I am grateful to Saudi Arabia and to all those who help in mediation and negotiation platforms.
However, I strongly urge all those who can influence Russia, especially the United States, to take strong steps that can help. There must be pressure on the one who does not want to stop the war. Pressure must be exerted on Russia. Only decisive actions can end this war, which has already taken years.
The American side suggested that it start with unconditional ceasefire. Then, during the period of silence, we could prepare a credible peace plan, put it on the table, discuss the details and apply it. We’re ready.
And we believe it is the responsibility of our partners to ensure that Russia is ready to end the war – not to seek reasons why it will have to continue for more weeks, months or years, but to end it. Putin will not end the war on his own. But America’s power is enough to do so.
Need strong steps. There must be strong pressure on the only one who wants to continue this war. This means “peace through power”.
Thanks to all who helped get closer to peace – the United States, Europe and the whole world. I thank all the partners whose power and diplomacy will eventually achieve.
Trump: There is a very good chance this horrible war will end
Earlier today, US President Donald Trump in a post on Truth Social commented that US-Russia discussions on the deal are productive.
“We had very good and productive discussions with President Vladimir Putin of Russia yesterday, and there is a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war will finally reach the end of
– But, at the moment, a thousand Ukrainian troops are entirely surrounded by the Russian army, and is in a very bad and vulnerable position.
I asked fortherefore From President Putin to save their lives. This would be a horrible slaughter, which had never been done by World War II. May God have them all well !!! “
Finally, White House spokesman Karoline Leavitt said the international community was never so close to reaching peace in Ukraine.
“Yesterday was a productive day for the United States of America and for the world in terms of peace. We’ve never been so close to peace“, He said.
