“Ilon himself has said that sometimes you do something. You make a mistake and then you appeal the mistake. I accept the mistakes,” said the US Vice President
US Vice President Jay Di Vance he acknowledged that the Masculine He made mistakes in the mass redundancies of federal employees and stressed that he believes that there are “many good people working in government”, according to NBC News.
“Ilon himself has said that sometimes you do something, you make a mistake and then you call the mistake. I accept the mistakes,” Vance said in an interview with NBC News.
“I also believe that you have to correct these mistakes quickly. But I am also fully aware of the fact that there are many good people working in government, many people who do a great job. And we want to try to maintain as many of those people who work in government, while eliminating those who do not work.”
Vance’s milder tone was contradictory to the chainsaw adopted by Musk, the richest man in the world, as he leads President Donald Trump’s initiative to cut federal spending. The layoffs of thousands of government officials were the focus of Musk’s work during the first seven weeks of the second Trump governance, with cuts bringing lawsuits and reactions from judges. Musk has widely described federal employees as “scammers” that one cannot trust that they are doing their job.
“I think some people clearly receive a check and do not do their job,” Vance said when asked about Musk’s corresponding statements. “Now, how many people are they? I don’t know, in a federal workforce of 3 million people, if there are a few thousand or many more.”
“No matter how big the problem is, it’s a problem when people live from the generosity of the American taxpayer in a position in the public and do not do the people’s jobs,” he added. “This does not diminish the fact that you have many great civil servants who do a significant job. But I think most of these great civil servants would say that we want to be able to do our job. We do not want the person who does not appear five days a week.
Meanwhile, Trump, who is constitutionally forbidden to serve another term, caused a sensation in an interview with Fox News last month saying he was “too early” to order his Vance successor in 2028.
Vance was asked if he considers himself a successor to Trump, answering that he is not thinking of a presidential campaign right now. He told the story of how he felt on the night of the election, when, surrounded by his closest friends and family, it became clear that he had won the Vice -President.
“Wow, I’m the elected US vice president,” Recalls Vans thinking. “And, you know, if I never deal with politics, I have no problem with it, but we have a very good opportunity to do a lot of very good things over the next four years.”
“If I do very well in the next four years, everything else will come on their own …” he added. “I want to say, if I’m a central figure to solve the Russian-Ukraine crisis, who gives a damn about what will I do after that?” said Vance. “This is my attitude. Therefore, I am very focused on doing a good job.”
