Two people were killed and eight were injured by Israeli air bombings in southern Lebanon, as Israel has targeted cities there responding to rockets launched on its territory on the other side of the border, as reported by NNA.

The agency reported a storm of Israeli air strikes and artillery fire in southern Lebanon, including cities at the border about 8 km within the Lebanese territory.

The United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon (Unifil) said in a written statement issued that he was worried about violence at the border.

“Any further escalation in this fluid situation may have serious consequences for the area,” he said.

For its part, Lebanon’s Hezbollah organization denied any involvement in rocket launches to northern Israel.

In a statement, Hezbollah “denied any involvement in southern Lebanese rocket launch” and estimated that “Israeli enemy claims are recorded in the context of the pretexts to continue his attacks on Lebanese, who have not stopped.”
