An explosion occurred at the Cerredo coal mine in the northern Spanish region of Asturia on Monday, killing two people, injuring at least 9 and trapped several, according to El Mundo.

According to the Spanish media, the accident occurred when a machine exploded, causing burns and injuries to those nearby.

Asturia’s government spokesman Guillermo Peláez was carried out with a license to exploit a possible use of a graphite mineral.

Two workers were transferred to a serious condition at the Villablino Health Center in León, from which one of them was to be transported by helicopter to another hospital with extensive burns.

The other injured man was taken to a Leon hospital, also in serious condition, while a third -trauma worker was taken to Carmen Y Severo Ochoa hospital in Cangas del Narcea, Astouria.

The latest reports suggest that the two injured failed and ended up.
