China will not succumb to the “blackmail” of the United States, it is crossing Beijing, as the world trade war is escalating due to the sweeping duties imposed by Donald Trump.

The response from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce came after Trump’s threats to impose an additional 50% duty on Chinese products imported to the US with power from tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9, as Beijing threatened to react to the 34% duties.

If Trump threats apply then Chinese products imported into the US will be subject to 104%duties, as there were 20%duties.

“The US side’s threat to escalate duties against China is wrong with the mistake, once again exposing the blackmail of the American side,” the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said.

“If the US persists, China will fight to the end,” Beijing said.

The European Union is discussing its own countermeasures in Trump’s tariff attack that swept dozens of countries, led the financial markets in recession and powered forecasts for a global downturn.

Stock markets appear to have stabilized after successive dramatic meetings in which lost trillions of dollars.

Japan’s Nikkei Index rose 6% on Tuesday, recovering from a low 1-1/2 year at the previous meeting, after Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Sigerou Isiba agreed to start commercial conversations in telephone conversations late Monday.

Chinese Blue-Chips. They went down 0.7%, after losses of more than 7% on Monday.

US Futures rose after low year.

Europe is studying countermeasures

The European Commission, meanwhile, is considering 25% reciprocal duties in a range of US products, including soy, nuts and sausages. Berbon, however, seems to be off the list, according to a document seen by Reuters.

Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Layen interview during her visit to Norway that the European Union is ready to negotiate with the United States on new duties announced by the Trump government. At the same time, the president of the Commission announced that Brussels had suggested in the US to exclude industrial products fully and mutually, in an attempt to avoid a trade war.

“While the EU remains open and prefers the negotiations, we will not wait endlessly,” said Commissioner Maros Sefkovic, after discussions with his counterparts from the Member States.

The EU is already confronted with duties on cars and metals and is facing additional 20% tariffs on other products since Wednesday. Trump has also threatened to impose duties on EU alcoholic beverages.

US Minister of Finance Scott Bessed He met with Trump in Florida on Sunday, according to Politico, to encourage him to emphasize trade agreements with the partners in order to reassure the markets.

US officials say dozens of other countries have come into contact with the hope of coming to an agreement on duties that will come into force on Wednesday.

However, US officials say the president keeps a promise he made, to reverse a situation of decades that he believes has undermined the US economy.
