He stressed that Tokyo will seek to find a field of understanding with the US so that the two countries can continue their cooperation in trade
The Japanese prime minister Sigeru Isiban warned today that the customs duties which the US has imposed can potentially disrupt, if not overthrow the world economic class, formulating the stricter warning from Tokyo to the present day for the damage that the President’s decisions may cause Donald Trump.
At the same time, however, he stressed that Tokyo will seek to find a field of understanding with the US so that the two countries can continue their cooperation in trade and national and regional security issues.
“In negotiations with the US we need to understand what is behind Trump’s argument, both in the sense of reason and in the sense of emotion,” Mr Isiba said, addressing the Japanese parliament.
“I have a full awareness of the fact that what has happened so far can potentially cause disruption of the global economic class,” he continued.
Mr Isiba emphasized that his government is not considering the possibility of preparing a complementary budget at present, but is ready to act in time to alleviate the blow to Japan’s economy due to the additional US customs duties.
These comments are recorded just 24 hours before bilateral trade talks on Thursday, which will be on the agenda from duties to non -tariff barriers to trade and exchange rates.
