The Finnish government today announced its decision to keep the country’s eastern border with neighboring Russia closed.

Finland closed its land borders with Russia at the end of 2023 amid increasing number of arrivals from countries such as Syria and Somalia.

Helsinki has accused Moscow of tooling immigration against the Scandinavian nation as an anti -NATO anti -integration of Finladia, a category that the Kremlin refuses.

“The risk that the tooling of immigration will be repeated and expanded, as has happened in the past, remains possible.”the government announced.

As he pointed out, he would regularly evaluate the situation and remove or change the regime on the border if he considers that there is no “serious threat to national security or public order”.

Finland has also enforced an emergency emergency law that allows it to reject asylum applications from immigrants crossing its closed east border with Russia and send them back.
