Italy’s Prime Minister George Meloni is already in Washington ahead of her meeting with Donald Trump at the White House.

It is noted that the Italian prime minister is the first European leader to meet the US president after his decision to impose a 20% duties on the European Union, which makes Georgia Meloni’s visit significant as he has been consulted with her European counterparts.

As an indication of the close relationship between Meloni and Trump, the Italian prime minister was the only EU leader who attended Donald Trump’s swearing -in earlier this year.

The talks of the two leaders will cover a wide range of trade issues, including relaxation of import duties and regulatory barriers to US companies, as well as the strengthening of common opportunities in areas such as space, telecommunications and biotechnology, officials said.
