The British Counter -Terrorism Service is investigating an attack on Saturday in Leeds in northern England, resulting in the serious injury of two women. According to the authorities, a ballistra and a gun were identified at the site.

Police arrested a 38 -year -old man who was taken to the hospital as he was injured. Authorities said they were not looking for other suspects and that the motivation for the attack remains under investigation.

As stated in a related announcement, “although we are still at a very early stage, the circumstances around this incident have led the anti -terrorism service to undertake investigations. So far there is no evidence to suggest that someone else is involved in the attack and, for the time being, we are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident. “

Western Yorkshire police leader Carl Galvin described the incident as “shocking” and thanked the citizens and emergency services for their help.

Although knife crimes are more common in Britain, balloons have previously been used in criminal acts. In July 2024, a man killed three women in London – his former partner, her sister and their mother. In addition, in March of that year, another attack was recorded in the British capital, which had caused life -threatening injuries.
