The center -left Labor Party won the Australian election, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanesi securing a second term in the country’s helm and the majority of seats in parliament.

In his first statements, the Australian prime minister thanked voters for the confidence they showed in his face by re -elected him, adding that in a period of global uncertainty, Australians chose optimism.

“My compatriots Australians, my term as prime minister is the greatest honor of my life,” Albanesi said in his first statements, adding: “And with a deep sense of humility and deep sense of responsibility, the first thing I do tonight is to thank the people of Australia.”

The Australian prime minister noted that “at this time of global uncertainty, Australians chose optimism and determination.”

“Australians have chosen to face the world challenges in the Australian way – taking care of each other while building the future. Today the Australian people voted for Australian values. For justice, ambition and opportunities for everyone. For the power to show courage in adversity and kindness for those in need, “he said and added:

“Australians voted for a future that is faithful to these values, a future that will be built on the basis of all those who unite us as Australians and all those who differentiate our nation from the world.”

The Australian Prime Minister then said that opposition leader Peter Datton contacted him, who thanked his warm words, and when their supporters began to shout at his opponent, Albanesi stopped saying: “No. What we do in Australia is to treat people with respect. “

“I thank Peter for his generous words at the end of a very tough election campaign,” Albanesi added, and continued: “And I want to take this opportunity to wish Peter and Kiril and their family the best for the future.”

The Australian prime minister then stressed that the government has a lot of work ahead of it. We have spent a lot over the last three years, Albanesi added, “that’s why it is especially important that in this uncertain Australian people have again entrusted the Labor”, committing that the party will never consider this confidence “given”.

He noted that tomorrow both he and his team will return to work, “we will undertake this project with new hope, new confidence and new determination.”

At the same time, he pledged that his government would devote the next three years to making the positive difference in the life and future of Australians. “We will be a government that supports reconciliation with the people of the first nations, because we will be a stronger nation if we bridge the gap between indigenous and non -indigenous Australians,” he said.

He promised to reduce the cost of child care and support for workers trying to acquire new skills, as well as taking on climate initiatives with a focus on renewable energy sources, which – as he said – “we must take advantage of the future of our economy”.

The leader of the opposition lost his headquarters, Pitn Datton

A little earlier, the Liberal/National Coalition leader Peter Datton admitted his defeat and phoned Anthony Albanesi to congratulate him on his re -election.

Donton said his party did not go very well in the elections, noting that “it wasn’t the night we wanted.”

“We didn’t do well in this election campaign … I take full responsibility for that. Earlier he congratulated the prime minister and wished him the best. He must be proud of what he did, “he said characteristically, and also acknowledged his defeat by the Labor candidate, Ali Frans, in his Dixon region, from which he lost his headquarters to parliament.

Continuing, Donton said that “it was a great honor to lead this extraordinary party for the last three years. Sacred executives, capable candidates lost their seats and ambitions. I’m sorry for that. We have an excellent party. It will recover. ”

Local media had predicted the victory of labor. Sky News Australia and Seven television networks estimated earlier that the Conservatives of the Liberal/National Coalition would not be able to distract power from Albanesi, based on the first elements of the count, while the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Analyst, Elections.

Defense Minister Richard Marls also told Seven’s television station earlier that the first results are encouraging and that the recovery of the majority by the labor government “remains a possibility and this is what we are trying to achieve”.

The ballots ended at 11.00 am in Greece in the most densely populated eastern Australian zone in Australia, while the vote in western Australia, where the city of Perth is located, ended at 13:00 Greek time.

The ‘factor’ Trump

Shortly after the start of the vote, Finance Minister Jim Chalmers said the labor government “faced all sorts of problems” in late 2024, but covered the lost ground due to the effective campaign of Albanesi, its politicians.

“The economy has returned to positive territory – the reduction of interest rates has contributed to it,” he told Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The country’s central bank reduced interest rates in February, on the eve of the election call, changing the course after 13 interest rates raising the cost of repayment of mortgages for households.

“The sense of influence of US policy,” he also contributed, Calmers added.

For his part, a spokesman for the Liberal Party, Senator James Patterson, defended the party’s positions during the election campaign, which, he said, was negatively affected by the “Trump factor”.

“It turned out to be devastating in Canada for the conservatives … I think here too, how big it will be determined in a few hours,” he told Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The recovery of the center -left labor party reflects the one that scored the Liberal Party in Canada, which returned to power recently, managing to overthrow the original correlations thanks to Trump’s duties and observations on Canadian domination.
