One of the Pope Francis Pope-Mobile, is expected to be converted into Mobile Health Clinic for Kids in Gaza Stripfulfilling one of his last wishes, as the official media of the Vatican reports on Sunday.

The vehicle, used by the deceased Pontiff during his visit to the Holy Land in 2014, is equipped with diagnostic medical equipment to help young patients in the Palestinian pocket, where health services have been hit by the Israeli invasion.

Pope Francis, who died last month, entrusted the initiative to the universal help organization of Caritas Jerusalem months before his death, Vatican News said.

“This is a specific, life -saving intervention at a time when the Gaza Health System has almost collapsed,” Peter Brune, Secretary General of Caritas Sweden, told Vatican News, who supports the project.

Mobile unit will be equipped with fast Infections Test, Vaccines, Diagnostic Tools and Witting Kitand will be staffed by medical staff. Caritas plans to develop the clinic in communities without access to operating health care facilities once humanitarian access to Gaza is possible.

“It’s not just a vehicle,” Brune added. “It’s a message that people have not forgotten children in Gaza.”

Gaza has a small Christian community and the Vatican has stated that Francis used to call the church of the Holy Family in Gaza almost daily since the war in Gaza began.

Francis had many Pope-Mobile, but this particular was used during his visit to Israel in 2014 and the Palestinian territories and remained in the area after returning to the Vatican.

It is recalled that the Conclave for the election of a new Pope begins on May 7th.
