Ukraine: Russians open land route to Crimea – Kharkiv bombing

by

The Russian forces created “partially” a land corridor to the Crimea, said the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“The enemy has partially succeeded in creating a land corridor between the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and part of the Donetsk region,” he said in a post.

The news comes after the British intelligence service announced on Friday that Ukrainian forces had recaptured cities 35 kilometers east of Kiev.

Meanwhile, a video circulating on the internet shows civilians allegedly receiving humanitarian aid at Kharkiv of Ukraine, to accept Russian bombing.

The Nova Poshta post office in Kharkov has become a hub for “delivering humanitarian aid to charities and volunteer fighters … in Ukraine”.

According to the Guardian, this seems to signal another Russian attack on civilians, just two days after the US formally accused Russian forces of committing war crimes in Ukraine and said it would seek accountability “using all available tools”.

At the same time, the adviser to the Ukrainian president, Oleksig Arestovich, said that Ukrainian troops repulsed a first attack by Russian forces in the town of Slavutich, where the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant live.

Earlier in the day, local authorities said Slavutic was “completely isolated”, with Russian forces just outside the city limits.

In a statement, the Kyiv region administration said: “Slavutich is completely isolated. The enemy is located at a distance of 1.5 kilometers from the city “.
