His work
He graduated from the Leningrad School of Leningrad in 1946 and danced as a soloist of Ballet Kirov until 1962. The direction of the work “The Stone Flower” (1957) by Sergei Prokofiev and “The Legend of Love” (1961).
In 1964 he moved to the Bolshoi Theater, where he would work as artistic director until 1995. His most famous productions in Bolshevi was Nutcracker (1966), Spartakos (1967) and Ivan the Terrible (1975) (1975) (1984). In 1984 and 1995, he was accused of allowing the theater to sink into stagnation and after many disputes he was removed from his office. He then choreographed for various Russian groups before settling in Krasnodar, where he founded his own team.
Grigorovic led the jury in numerous international classical ballet competitions. After the death of his wife, Ballerina Natalia Besmertnova, he was given the opportunity to return to Bolshoi again as a ballet master and choreographer.
