The new TESLA (TSLA) vehicles decreased by almost 53% across the EU in April compared to the same month in 2024, according to figures released Tuesday by the European Car Manufacturers Association (ACEA). In the wider region – which includes the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland – sales decreased by 49% in the same month compared to last year, according to figures.

This is the fourth consecutive month of decrease in Tesla’s annual sales in Europe.

As in the United States, MASK’s behavior in recent months has caused the impact and protests of people in Europe. The billionaire has supported some far -right politicians in Germany and the United Kingdom and played a prominent role in the second Trump government, leading the efforts to dismiss thousands of federal employees.

April also marked the first time Chinese competitor BYD surpassed Tesla in sales of more vehicles in Europe, according to data from research company Jato Dynamics.

“This is a critical time for the European cars market, especially if one considers that Tesla has been leading the European market for years, while BYD officially started operating beyond Norway and the Netherlands only at the end of 2022,” said Felipe Munoz, a worldwide analyst of Jato Dynamics.

The decline in sales of Tesla is noted despite the expansion of the broader market of electric vehicles (EV) of the block.
