Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky assured today that various Russian businessmen had offered to give money to help Ukraine, especially to support its army.

In a televised interview with Russian media, Zelensky said he had received “messages” from Russian businessmen, including billionaire Roman Abramovich, a close ally of Vladimir Putin, who is being targeted by EU and European Union sanctions. .

“We have had messages from him and other businessmen suggesting ‘we can help one way or another, we can do something,'” he said.

“Some said they were ready to help rebuild the country after the war. “We are ready to move our business to Ukraine, we live in England or somewhere in Switzerland, we want it. But how can we do it without being on the sanctions list?” Said the Ukrainian president.

“Some people do not want to be named and say they want to help our army and are citizens of the Russian Federation,” he said.

Zelensky then assured that whoever the businessmen say they are ready to give money to support the Ukrainian army, Ukraine is ready to “guarantee their security, provide them with jobs and allow their businesses to develop “.

“I am talking specifically about the sanctions in our state. “We can discuss it, we can discuss it in order to change the nationality of these people”, he explained, emphasizing that it is not “obligatory to be done in public”.

According to the Wall Street Journal last Wednesday, Volodymyr Zelensky urged Joe Biden not to impose sanctions on Roman Abramovich, saying he could play a role in Ukraine’s peace talks with Russia.
