The Kremlin announced that Russia elaborates methods to accept payments in rubles for gas exports and will make decisions in a reasonable time if European countries refuse to pay in Russian currency.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peshkov said there would be a clear framework for making such payments.
Peshkov also announced that Russian investigators would look into the video, which was released on social media and allegedly shows Ukrainian soldiers abusing Russian prisoners.
The spokesman said the video contained “monstrous images” that needed to be legally evaluated so that those involved in what he described as torture would be held accountable for their actions.
Reuters has not been able to independently confirm the authenticity of the video.
The agency seeks to receive the reaction of the Ukrainian side on the issue.
Earlier, the Ukrainian military said its forces were abiding by international law and accused Russia, without providing evidence, of making such videos to discredit Ukrainian soldiers.
