Air India airline flight coming from Thailand’s Phuket island to the capital of India Nea Delhi today was threatened with a bomb in flight and landed on the island, air authorities said.
All 156 passengers on the AI 379 flight were removed from the plane, as provided by emergency plans, a Thailand Airport (AOT) official said.
The plane took off from Phuket Airport for the capital of India at 05:30 am, but made a large circle around the Antaman Sea and landed again at the Thai airport, according to Flightradar24 that records the course of air flights. The incident occurred after Air India’s crash in Ahmedabad yesterday, Thursday, shortly after the take -off, from which more than 240 people died.
The AOTs did not give details about the bomb threat. Air India did not respond to comments immediately. Indian airlines and airplanes had received many bomb threats that proved to be a farce last year, with nearly 1,000 such threats and messages being taken in the first 10 months, almost ten times the number compared to 2023.
