“Shame on you!”: Will Smith’s apology to Chris Rock for the Oscar cuff

by

Will Smith apologized for Chris Rock’s slap in the face at the Oscars on Sunday night, saying his behavior was “unacceptable and unjustified” and he felt “ashamed,” the Daily Mail reported.

The 53-year-old said in a post on Instagram that he was “ashamed” of his actions, which shocked the attendees, producers and viewers of the ceremony.

“Violence in all its forms is poisonous and destructive,” he said.

“My behavior at yesterday’s Oscars was unacceptable and unjustified. “Jokes against me are part of the job, but a joke about Janda’s medical condition was too much for me and I reacted emotionally.”

“I would like to apologize publicly to you, Chris. I was off the line and I was wrong. I am ashamed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. “There is no room for violence in a world of love and kindness,” said the well-known actor in his attempt to apologize.

Smith then apologized to the show’s organizers and producers.

Rock has not responded to Smith’s apology, nor has he commented on Sunday night.

Smith also apologized to the family of Venus and Serena Williams.
