The Central Administration of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) pledged to “harsh revenge” after the assassination of Lieutenant General Ali Sadmani, head of Central Staff Hatam al-Anbia, from an Israeli air raid on Tehran on June 17, according to Reuters.

The head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Center, Ali Sandmani, succumbed to his wounds, suffered during Israel’s military raids in the country, Iranian state media reported on Wednesday.

In a statement broadcast by Iranian state television, the guards condemned “criminal activity” and warned that those who are responsible “must expect harsh revenge”.

The Israeli Armed Forces had announced on June 17 that they killed Sandman, who they recognized as the leader of the Iranian General Staff in times of war and the senior military commander.

Ali Shadmani was a Lieutenant General of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and for a few days, from June 13th to 17th, 2025, head of the Central Staff Hatham al-Anbia, before being killed in an Israeli air raid in Tehran.
