A 27 -year -old former soldier was arrested in the early morning hours in Esen, Germany, suspected of the planning of Islamic terrorist attack.
Early in the morning there was investigations by the Special Police forces in at least six apartments in the cities of Esen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Sest.
In addition to the 27 -year -old, one of his accomplice was arrested in Dortmund, but he is not sure to know Bosnia’s ultimate plans already under surveillance by the Federal Service for the Protection of the Constitution.
They were looking for him for commercial fraud
According to a statement from the Düsseldorf prosecutor’s office, the initial investigation involved commercial fraud, as the 27 -year -old allegedly supplied expensive electrical appliances without paying them to resell them.
However, along the way it was revealed that in revenue it was planning to fund terrorist attacks.
“Investigations by the Esen Police Headquarters under the direction of the Düsseldorf prosecutor revealed, in addition to the suspicion of a common commercial fraud, indications that the revenue from fraudulent acts were intended to finance a terrorist attack with an Islamist motivation,” he said.
He spoke of five -digit amounts that had already been received by the suspect in this way.
