The North Korean seaside resort opened on June 24, after years of construction and preparation and its first visitors were a group of Russian tourists.
At the inauguration of Wonsan Kalma, Kim Ying U had stated that the site would be recorded as “one of the biggest successes this year” and described his opening as “the first step in implementing the government’s policy to develop tourism.
Indeed, state -owned media reported that North Korea plans to build similar tourist zones throughout the country to attract foreign visitors.
