French court announced today Thursday that investigations are being launched again for ‘Possible violence’ Possibly committed by singer Bertrand Kantas before the death of his ex -wife, Christina Randy, who was found hanged in her home on January 10, 2010.

The reason for the review of the case was the documentary of the Netflix platform “The Candle Case” about the singer of the band Noir Désir. Kantas was convicted in 2003 for the assassination of actress Marie Trentinian, reminded Bordeaux prosecutor Reno Godel.

The three episodes of the Netflix series, available from March 27, contain “many statements and testimonies” that had not been taken in the previous four investigations by the authorities on Randy’s death conditions. All those investigations came into the archive, without continuing, the prosecutor said.

In addition to the case concerning Randy’s death at the couple’s home in Bordeaux, three other investigations were followed in 2013, 2014 and 2018. The latter two were conducted on the occasion of the lawsuits filed by the president of the “Woman and Free” Union, Jel Melul, former lawyer.

Melul said “relieved” of the radical change of Bordeaux’s prosecutor’s attitude to this “case of forced suicide”, as he called it. According to the lawyer, the testimony of an anonymous nurse in the Netflix documentary is a “new element” that confirms the fact that Christina Randy was “a victim of domestic violence”. She added that she too has “new testimonies to submit to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bordeaux”, without specifying what they are concerned with.

The singer was sentenced in 2003 to Lithuania to eight years in prison for the deadly blows he managed to his then partner, Marie Trentinian. He was transferred to France and released in 2007 after serving over half of his sentence.

Three years later, he was quickly relieved of any suspicion of Randy’s death, which was attributed to suicide.

Kanta tried to return to the rock scene of France from 2010 onwards, with an album and a tour. In December 2017 he released his first solo album, “Amor Fati”, which sparked strong reactions, as was the follow -up tour, marked by many concerts and feminist demonstrations. On June 11, 2018, after being welcomed in March with the slogan “assassin” in Grenoble, he canceled his other appearances.
