Strong seismic vibrations hit Guatemala.

The Geological Studies Institute (USGS) recorded intense seismic activity. A first earthquake at 21:21 UTC, measuring 5.6 Richter, was centered on a 3km west-northwest of Guatemala’s hand, at a depth of 7.8 km. A second earthquake, with 5.3 Richter, followed shortly afterwards. The focus is located at 6 kilometers west of El Arenladoin the southeast Guatemala. The focal depth is 10 kilometers.

The Conreded National Coordinator has confirmed 5.8 Richter for the main earthquake, causing preventive discharges in public and private buildings. No injuries or significant damage have been reported according to the latest updates, but authorities are carrying out loss estimates in the affected areas, including Eskuindla and Shakatepes. The vibrations were also felt at El Salvadorwithout mentioning significant implications.
