The Israeli political leadership has approved the final operational plans to complete the Gaza Strip. At the end of yesterday’s meeting, Benjamin Netanyahu in a video message said that in addition to the army’s preparations, contacts would continue to reach a “final agreement” based on the truce plan that Hamas has already accepted. He added that the Israeli negotiating team would move to achieve the liberation of all hostages, living and dead, in one dose, and not in part, with the end of the end of the war “on the conditions that Israel will set”, as he characteristically pointed out.
Is not in a hurry to answer
On the other hand, Israel does not seem to be in a hurry to give its final response to the new ceasefire plan based on last May’s “Witkov framework” and revised by slight changes following Egyptian and Qatar’s backdrops. Indeed, it is noteworthy that a government official, answering today to a question from the state radio, has avoided specifying exactly when the final response to the plan would be given and when the Israeli negotiators will begin their contacts again.
Detailed Publication of Configurations – Why?
On the contrary, the Israeli side has been making sure in recent days to publicize the operational timetables in detail, while at the same time, the army continues to promote its strengths slowly to the outskirts of the city of Gaza. It was officially announced that the 60,000 backers who have already been summoned will not join Gaza forces before early September.
At the same time, today the army was ordered to restore the water supply network to the southern areas of the enclave, where a total of 800,000 civilians from the city of Gaza will be moved before businesses began. Water supply rehabilitation work is estimated to be completed in three weeks, when the construction of basic outdoor hospital infrastructures “in consultation with international humanitarian agencies, in accordance with international law”, are expected to be completed in three weeks. Finally, it was announced this morning that the final approval of the business plans will be decided by the limited composition Council of Ministers, responsible for security and defense (KYSEA) next Tuesday, August 26th.
This – unusual data – extremely detailed publication of Israeli military and political timetables in fact aims to exert further pressure on Hamas leadership in order to accept unconditionally the positions that the Netanyahu government is expected to include. An answer that, as they all show, will have a form of a telegraph.
