Four people were arrested and a police officer received a punch on the face during a demonstration against immigration on Sunday in London.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the march started peacefully but the situation was diverted when “A small number of protesters wearing masks became aggressive to citizens and police.”

The protesters group, numbering between 50 and 100 people, allegedly entered the Canary Wharf shopping center at around 4:30 pm, where the tension began. The protesters had gathered earlier outside a hotel in the area, holding British flags and placards.

To address the tension, the authorities issued two special orders. The first, known as “Section 60 AA”, aimed to prevent protesters from hiding their identity by wearing masks. The second, a dismantling order, forced the gathered to leave the area. Both orders were valid until midnight on Sunday.

About 100 counter -officers held banners with slogans such as “Resist racism” and “stop the far right”. The team also shouted: “Say it strong and clearly, the refugees are welcome here.”

On the same day, three more people were arrested at a gathering of hundreds of protesters outside a hotel at Eking, demanding the removal of asylum seekers housed there.
