The members of the Security Council welcomed the information of the Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG) at LibyaHannah Tete, in which the special representative presented the roadmap to promote a political process with Libyan guidance and property.
THE road map It aims, inter alia, to end the transition period, the progress of reaching an agreement on single institutions, to conduct free, fair, transparent and without exclusion of presidential and parliamentary elections, in accordance with resolution 2755 (2024) of the Security Council, within a total of 18 Libyan institutional bodies and the people of Libya.
The Security Council He called on Libyan institutional bodies to fully participate, with transparency and good faith, without conditions, and to make the necessary compromises for the progress of a Libyan guidance and property process, by facilitating the UN support mission to Libya (UNSMIL).
He reiterated their appeal to the international community to support this process. Also greeted the re -opening of her International Monitoring Committee For Libya, also known as the “Berlin process”, and encouraged its continuation of its evolution. He also pointed out the importance of progress to the unification of all institutions, including military and security institutions. Members of the Security Council concerned the fragile security environment in Libya and emphasized the importance of protecting security and stability across the country. They called on all the Libyan places to respect the 2020 truce and to abstain from any unilateral energy that could endanger the fragile security and the safety of the civilians.
They welcomed the recent completion of the municipal elections in 34 Libyan municipalities, praised the Supreme National Electoral Committee for its efforts and scored the suspension of local elections in some municipalities. They also reiterated the importance of securing complete, equal, meaningful and safe participation of women in the process.
Finally, they emphasized the importance of urgent progress by all Libyan actors to achieve constant peace, stability and security for the Libyan people. They also reassured their respect for sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and national unity of Libya.
