The Russian forces have launched the largest air attack since the beginning of the invasion, launching more than 800 drones and dozens of targets across Ukraine. For the first time, the cabinet building was hit in the center of Kiev, a development that Ukrainian Undersecretary of State Antriy Sibicha described as “serious escalation”. Two apartment buildings were damaged.
In a post, Ukrainian Prime Minister Julia Svirindenko has released footage from the interior of the government’s headquarters after the Russian attack, noting: “This is how the Ukrainian government’s headquarters now look like today’s Russian attack. All of our team works daily in this building. Fortunately, no one was injured. Russian barbarism will not stop the work of the government of Ukraine. “

Ukraine President Volodimir Zelenski talked to French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday, a few hours after the massive Russian air attack.
The attack with drones and rockets in the Ukrainian capital and other cities claimed five people, and more than 20 were injured, according to Zelenski in a Telegram post.
The Ukrainian president said that his French counterpart discussed measures to strengthen Ukraine’s defense, as well as coordinated diplomatic actions and the next steps with international partners for the appropriate response to Russian escalation. “Together with France, we are preparing new measures to enhance our defense,” he noted.

At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibicha spoke with EU High Representatives on Foreign Policy, Kaya Calas, stressing that the blow to the cabinet building is a “serious escalation” on the Russian side.
Ukraine and its capital have received the largest attack with drones and missiles to date, as Moscow shows a little willingness to end the war on 3.5 years, while European leaders are afraid of preparing a new attack, rejecting the peacekeeping initiatives.
The Kremlin forces hit the government complex in Kyiv for the first time.
Tobacco was raised by the huge cabinet building in the center of Kiev. The building suffered damage to the roof and upper floors, while the workshops extinguished the fire, Prime Minister Julia Sviridenko said in a post on the X platform.

Overall, the Kremlin forces launched over 800 drones and 13 missiles, including four ballistic, across Ukraine, killing at least two people in Kiev. Some drones appear to have passed through Belarus, President Volodimir Zelenski had said earlier.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that its forces hit facilities linked to the defense industry and the production of Ukraine drones, air bases, an industrial unit in the western suburbs of Kiev and a southern supply base. The ministry argued that all predetermined targets were destroyed and that no other points were affected in Kiev. He made no mention of damage to the government building and housing.

Is intensifying Russian aggression
Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine in recent months, while it is also trying to promote its land attack on the eastern country. July was one of the most deadly months for civilians since May 2022, according to the United Nations. On August 28, air bombardment against Kiev caused the deaths of at least 25 people, according to local authorities.
European leaders are increasingly concerned that Russia is preparing a new attack on Ukraine. At a meeting of the Security Council in Toulon in late August, German and French officials discussed the rallies of Russian troops outside Pokrovsk, a stronghold controlled by Ukraine in the eastern district of Donetsk.
Despite Donald Trump’s recent initiative to mediate the end of the Russian invasion, culminating in his encounter with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, Moscow shows a little mood for a ceasefire. Putin said last week that if Volodimir Zelenski is ready for talks, “let’s come to Moscow”.
Zelenski, in an interview with ABC News on Friday, replied that if Putin wants, he could travel to Kiev. “I can’t go to Moscow when my country accepts rockets when it is attacked every day. I can’t go to the capital of this terrorist, “he said.
At the same time, Russia announced that it has repelled 69 drones overnight, as Ukraine continues to target energy infrastructure. Drone debris fell to the independent Ilski oil refinery in the Krasnodar region with an annual processing capacity of 6.6 million tonnes, causing a fire, which was extinguished without being victims, according to regional authorities.
Separately, Robert Brovdi, head of Ukraine’s unmanned systems, said he was hitting an oil distribution station near Naitopovici, in Bryansk, Russia. The facility, he said, helps to transport oil from Belarus to Russia. This claim was not possible to confirm independently.
