Ten days after the spectacular arrest and repatriation of hundreds of South Korean citizens who worked at a factory in Georgia, Donald Trump assured Sunday Sunday that foreign workers who are being sent to the US by foreign companies are “welcome”.

On Thursday, South Korean President Lee Jaj-Mung warned that the raid on the construction site in Elbel could discourage future investments.

“I do not want to scare or discourage investments by foreign countries or companies in the US,” Donald Trump said yesterday via Truth Social. Foreign groups and their employees are “welcome”, the leader of the US state insisted.

The American economy needs “foreigners) experts for some time to teach us to train us about how they make their complex products,” Donald Trump explained.

In the second year, the US will be capable of “doing it even better” than foreign groups, the property tycoon said.

Some 475 employees, most of them South Koreans, were arrested on September 4 at the construction site where a factory for electric vehicles are being built in Lambel, which is co -ordinated by Hyundai and LG, South Korean giants.

Federal Police in Migration (ICE) announced that South Korean workers had exceeded the duration of staying in the visas they had or were licenses who did not allow manual work.

Donald Trump decided not to be deported, but Seoul rushed to repatriate them on Friday.

The operation has sparked strong reactions in South Korea and not only, while the US president is striking that attracting foreign investment to the US is a key focus on his economic policy.

At the end of July, the US and South Korea reached an agreement in principle a 15% customs duties in South Korean products imported into the US market.

It also includes South Korea’s commitment to invest $ 350 billion in the US.
