Shocking are the stories of the 26 activists who returned to Rome and talked to reporters about their detention conditions in Israel.

Members of the Global Sumud Flottilla mission returned from Israel last hours via Constantinople. Others, who refused to sign the removal decision, remain imprisoned, tried and then deported.

According to activists’ complaints, who spoke with reporters at the airport, during their stay in prison, they received extreme and illegal treatment. As they revealed, they were not allowed to drink drinking water for many hours and when they complained, their guards replied that there was water from the basin in the toilet.

“We were thrown away at what we had with us, I had a double heart attack and I couldn’t take medication,” said Masso Notgianni, president of the Milan arci volunteer organization. He, like many others, complain that as soon as they arrived in prison, they were forced to kneel and stay on the cement for hours without being able to lift their heads and look at the guards and dogs.

“Following the visit of Israeli Minister of National Security Ben Givir, who came to take a selfie and call us terrorists, the behavior of the guards still became aggressive,” reporter Lorenzo Diakostino said.

Tickets took over the Turkish Airlines and not the Italian

“As soon as we arrived at the harbor, they began to hit us on the head and back. We were treated as if we were animals, “added Italian journalist Saveriou Tomazi, who participated in Flottilla. “We even changed us to name us and demanded that we respond with the new, ridiculous names that they gave us,” Tomazi said.

Activists are essentially questioning that the conditions of imprisonment have respected the rule of law. “When my pressure pills threw me and I complained, they replied that I could go and look for them in the garbage bags,” an elderly, a member of the mission told reporters.

At the same time, the 26 Italian prisoners who have returned today categorically denies that the boats did not carry humanitarian aid, as Israel argued. They announced that they would reveal even more details of their detention conditions when the other 15 Italian activists, who are still in prison, return.

The government of Georgia Meloni refused to cover the costs of returning flights. Members of the mission arrived in Rome and Milan via Constantinople and – as they revealed – when they asked to pay, their Turkish airlines responded that they were going to cover those tickets from Constantinople to Italy.
