An important Trump-Chalenski meeting is expected to take place on Friday in Washington, following talks on the sale of Tomahawk rockets in Ukraine and ending the war.
In particular, according to Reuters citing Financial Times reports, US President Donald Trump intends to welcome the Ukrainian president in Washington on Friday, according to three sources citing news media.
The meeting comes after two telephone communications between the two leaders last weekend, during which they discussed the sale of Tomahawk rockets and ways to end Russia’s war in Ukraine, while a Ukrainian delegation begins a week of contact with US officials.
It is noted that Donald Trump said he intends to threaten Vladimir Putin that he would send Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if he did not stop the war.
“I may talk to him. Let me say “listen to him, if this war is not over, I will send them Tomahawk,” Trump told reporters inside the Air Force One Presidential aircraft.
The US president noted that Volodimir Zelenski asked him for Tomahawk rockets during a telephone conversation last Saturday.
“Tomahawk is a new step of attack,” Trump said. “Do the Russians want to launch tomhawk in their direction? I don’t think, “the US president added in a rhetorical style.
The Tomahawk rockets have a drastic range of about 2,500 kilometers, which means that the Russian capital would be within range if the Ukrainian Armed Forces acquired them.
Trump reiterated that the war in Ukraine, which has been committed to ending within 24 hours after returning to the White House in January, is, he said, the most difficult armed conflict he has attempted to resolve.
